滝めぐり / waterfall trekking

Non-profittable organization called "Hidaosaka 200 taki" located in Osaka town in City of Gero produces guided tour to waterfalles made after eruption of Mt. Ontake about 54,000 years ago. You will find the real Deep Japan here.
冬の滝めぐり / winter waterfall
下呂市小坂町のNPO法人飛騨小坂200滝では、冬も様々なアクティビティーを企画しています。かんじきを履いて森の中を歩いた後に見る滝は、夏とは違う別の表情を見せてくれます。
"Hidaosaka 200 taki" also can take you outside in winter from January to March.
Forest will be covered in snow in winter and waterfalls change its appearance completely different from that of summer. Skilled guied will take you to an another wonderful world. Snowshoes are inclulded in the tour.

You will find many choices on hiking in Gifu, from one day hike to a nearby maountain to Japanese alpus of more than 3000m high where you can stay in a mountain lodge or camp by yourself. Make sure you prepare very well for the hiking, because it could be life-threatning if you didn't have proper wearings and mountain gear.
